Chicken Taco Pasta Recipe

Chicken Taco Pasta Recipe

I could eat chicken tacos everyday if I could.  However, sometimes you just have to mix it up a bit.  Chicken tacos are great to freeze the leftovers.  Near the end of the school year me and my roommate pulled the meat out of the freezer only to realize that we had nothing besides the meat to make tacos with.  No shells, lettuce, sour cream, nothing.  So we decided to eat it with noodles and rice instead.  We used Nasoya Pasta Zero noodles because they are so easy and quick.  We also made some rice to eat with it.  It surprised both of us at how good it tasted.  This is a recipe we will be using again in the future.

Recipe

3-4 chicken breast (enough to fill the bottom of the crockpot)
1 jar salsa
1 packet taco seasoning
1 package Nasoya Pasta Zero
(Optional) Rice

Fill the crockpot with the chicken.  In a separate bowl mix the salsa and taco seasoning together.  Pour that mixture over the chicken.  Put the crockpot on low for around 6 hours.  When done, shred the chicken and stir.  Then take the noodles out of the package and drain and rinse them.  Mix the chicken taco meat in with the noodles and you are done!

I was given the Nasoya Pasta Zero product to test from Influenster but the opinions and recipe are my own.

Nasoya Stir Fry

I really wanted some Chinese food and was planning on just going to Panda Express to get some, when I remembered that I was sent some Nasoya Pasta Zero to try.  I had never heard of this brand before, but I had read that it was better for you than regular pasta so I decided that I would give it a try.  I had started boiling water for my rice and I figured I would just use some of that water to boil my pasta too until I read the package and realized that I did not need to cook the pasta.  This is so exciting for someone like me who forgets to eat some days until all of a sudden I am starving and need food as soon as possible.  When you first open the noodles they have a sort of weird smell, but it warns you about that on the package.  You just have to rinse the pasta and it mostly gone.  I would not recommend eating the pasta plain, or with little flavor because it does have a bit of an odd flavor to it.  However, once you add the sauce to it that does not matter.  One thing that I was not a big fan of was that it was really chewy.  Overall, I would definitely recommend this product.  Especially if you are gluten free, or a vegan.  It would be a good substitute for other pasta products.

This dish is so easy to make and is easily adaptable for whatever you like best.  In my stir fry I used Nasoya Pasta Zero Shirataki Spaghetti, broccoli, teriyaki chicken, and garlic. However, you could put whatever vegetables you want in it.  As well as whatever sauce you would like.  I origionally wanted to use the orange chicken sauce that is sold at Panda Express but I had none left.  Instead of running to go get some more I decided to use teriyaki sauce for both the noodles and chicken and it was still delicious.

Steps:

These are all the steps you will need to take to make this dish.  However, you do not necessarily have to do them in this order.  This is just the order I decided to do it in.

First I boiled some water for the rice to go in.  Just boiling the amount of water equal to the amount of rice you want cooked.

Secondly I put some chopped up broccoli on the stove on low just getting the ready for the garlic and pasta.

Then, this is the best part, the Nasoya Pasta does not need to be cooked.  Nope, you just open the bag (which is filled with pasta and water) and drain it over the sink.  Then you rinse the pasta with cold water and you are good to eat it.  I wanted mine warm and mixed in with my veggies so I added it in with the broccoli.  I mixed in a little bit of minced garlic and some teriyaki sauce until it gets to the flavor I wanted.

While the pasta is slowly warming up on the stove I made the chicken.  I had frozen chicken that was already cut up into chunks.  I had thawed them out earlier and added them to a frying pan that I put oil on the bottom of.  I cooked each side for a few minutes until it was completely cooked.

I then put all the chicken pieces in a bowl and coated it with teriyaki sauce.  After it was all coated I added it to the bowl of noodles and broccoli.  And that was it.  Easy, and delicious, stir fry.  I also ate mine with a side of rice.

Recipe:

Nasoya Pasta Zero (or any other pasta)
Chicken chunks
Minced garlic
Broccoli
Teriyaki Sauce
Oil
Rice (optional)

I was sent the Nasoya product to test for free, but my opinions are my own.

What I'm Listening To

What I'm Listening To

I am constantly listening to music.  I listen to it in the car, in the shower, while cleaning, or making food.  I am the type of person that makes a playlist of songs I find, and listen to that over and over again...until I get a new playlist with my new favorites.  So, I thought I would share with your my current playlist that I have on repeat.

These are a couple songs from the playlist that I have currently been listening to the most.  (If you want to see the whole playlist click here)

Brother - Needtobreathe Ft. Gavin Degraw
Watch Me Rise - Mikky Ekko
Sugar - Maroon 5
Riptide - Vance Joy
The Funeral - Band Of Horses
Let Your Heart Hold Fast - Fort Atlantic
Long As I Can See The Light - Creedence Clearwater Revival

The first song that I have on my playlist is called Brother by Needtobreathe featuring Gavin Degraw.  Without even listening to it you just know that this song is going to be good.  I mean how could it not, with Needtobreathe (one of my favorite bands), and Gavin Degraw (one of my favorite singers).

The second song I have been loving is called Watch Me Rise by Mikky Ekko.  This song was playing in the background on an episode of American Idol during Hollywood week.  I immediately had to pause the show, and google what the song was.

The next song is one that is on the top 100, called Sugar by Maroon 5.  It has a really fun melody, and a really cute music video.  When I first heard it I was not super impressed, but after listening to it a few times I find it to be a fun song to listen to.

The next one is also pretty popular.  It is Riptide by Vance Joy.  I just really everything about this song, and after hearing a cover of it recently I had to add it to my playlist.

While re-watching How I Met Your Mother (if you have not seen this show, go watch it now!) I have realized how much I love the background music in this show.  This song, Let Your Heart Hold Fast, Long As I can See The Light, and If the Hudson Overflows are a couple of my from this tv series that I also have on my playlist.  I am not the only one that loves the song choices in this show.  My sister created a whole Spotify playlist just for them.  (Check it out here if you'd like!)
